About Infviz AB

During the autumn of 2006 three persons with their roots in the Master of Science in Media Technology and Engineering program at Linköping University - Sweden, tried to find a common ground to create innovative information visualization solutions. What emerged was the idea to start the company Infviz AB.

Companies are today drowning in information and starving for knowledge, more and more data is collected and stored. Information visualization is the technology that enables the extraction of patterns and knowledge that is hidden within the data. This is accomplished by presenting the data interactively with 2D and 3D computer graphics and animations.

We specialize in .NET development using WPF, Silverlight and hardware accelerated graphics with DirectX. We believe in the agile manifesto and use Scrum for project management to involve the customer in the development process through frequent releases and short feedback cycles. We use test-driven development to create well tested and stable code that is continuously integrated.

The founders

Johan Franzén is the architect behind an information visualization framework developed at Linköping University. The framework is used for education, research and the creation of prototypes. Companies that have had prototypes developed are Unilever, SMHI and SCB among others.

Mattias Beermann has during the last two years worked in China for two outsourcing companies as Senior Consultant and Engineer. His role as software architect and software designer in several large .NET projects has given him great experience in developing robust and flexible frameworks and applications. Mattias has also run his own company since 1995 doing part time software development.

Christian Sörensen has for two years worked in software development with testing and implementation of software development processes at the company SCISS. The company has created an cutting edge astronomical visualization platform which is used by several of the largest planetariums in the world. The platform enables viewers to take an interactive tour of the whole known universe.
